Our official tryout windows run a few weeks each spring, but we’re always glad to meet new players and families. Registration stays open year-round, and we often invite players out to a training session for a look. Reach out anytime and we’ll coordinate a time that works.

Academy and Classic tryouts don’t overlap, so you’re free to register for both. Academy runs first, giving our staff time to offer honest feedback before Classic tryouts begin. If your player receives an Academy offer, you’ll need to accept or decline it before attending a Classic tryout.

What to Expect

The Tryout Process

Six steps from registration to a roster spot, here’s how it works.

Register on PlayMetrics

Choose Academy, Classic, or both. Your player's birthdate automatically places them in the right age group, no need to pick a team.

Check In & Get a Number

Arrive early on tryout day, check in, and get the player number your coaches will use to evaluate.

Take the Field

Each age group gets at least 3 tryout dates. We recommend attending two or more for the fairest evaluation. Sessions are filmed on Veo so coaches can review closely.

Coaches Review Together

Our staff reviews footage and live notes as a group, not just one coach's opinion.

Collaborative Placement

Directors and coaches align on the right team and level for every player who tried out.

Offer & Deposit

Offers go out within about a week. Confirm your player's spot with a deposit within 48 hours.

Common Questions

Tryouts, Answered

Do I need to register for a specific age group or team?
No. You register by program: Academy, Classic, or both, and your player's birthdate automatically places them in the correct age group. Each age group is evaluated separately, alongside kids their own age.
How many tryout sessions should my player attend?
We recommend at least two, so our coaches get a thorough look. No need to RSVP either way, just attend the sessions scheduled for your player's age group.
Is there a fee to try out?
No, tryouts are always free. There's no cost to register or attend an evaluation session.
What should my player wear?
A light-colored top and dark shorts. We'd ask that they leave jerseys or gear from other clubs at home.
What's the check-in process?
Arrive 15 early for check-in. Your player will get a bib number at their first session, hang onto it and bring it back for every session after.
What happens if there's bad weather?
We watch the forecast closely. If a session needs to be canceled, we'll email you by 4pm that day.
When will we hear back, and how do we accept an offer?
Results go out within about a week of the final tryout date, by email and in your PlayMetrics account. To accept, log into PlayMetrics and respond to the alert at the top of your screen, a non-refundable deposit is required within 48 hours to hold the roster spot.
What if my player doesn't get an Academy offer?
We'll place them where they'll develop best, often that's a Classic roster, a competitive team with the same coaching standard.
My player already has an offer, should they still attend a session?
Yes, we'd love to see them at the final session. It helps our coaches calibrate new prospects against current team talent, and it's extra touches on the ball before the season starts.
What if we missed tryout season entirely?
Registration is open all year. Reach out to us and we'll coordinate a time for your player to join a training session so our coaches can get a look, evaluations happen throughout the season, not just during our official tryout weeks.
